Wedding Videographer Achensee

Wedding Videographer Achensee – Your wedding film at Tyrol's most beautiful lake

Turquoise water, the Karwendel mountains in the background, and a sense of calm you feel immediately. The Achensee is no ordinary wedding location. And your film should show that.

Wedding films at the Achensee: where mountains meet water

The Achensee is called Tyrol's Sea for good reason. The largest lake in Tyrol sits nestled between the Karwendel and the Rofan mountains, about 45 minutes from Innsbruck. The water shimmers from turquoise to deep blue depending on the light, the mountains rise directly from the shore, and the towns of Pertisau, Maurach, and Achenkirch have kept their original character. As a backdrop for a wedding film, it is hard to beat.

What makes the Achensee so special as a filming location is the combination of water and mountains in a compact area. Within just a few metres the scenery changes: pebble beach at the lakeshore, alpine meadows above the treeline, dense forests, and rugged rock faces. For me as a videographer, that means enormous visual variety without long travel distances.

I know the Achensee from many visits and understand when the light falls at its most beautiful. In the morning, the western part of the lake still rests in soft shade while the peaks already glow. In the late afternoon, the sun moves behind the Rofan mountains and bathes Pertisau and the eastern shore in warm backlight. I plan these golden hours deliberately into your shoot day.

A wedding at the Achensee often has a relaxed, almost intimate atmosphere. Many couples choose this place deliberately because it is away from the hustle. No big-city stress, no through traffic. Just water, mountains, and the people who matter to you. That is exactly the mood I capture: calm, real, and with a strong sense for the moment.

Whether a free ceremony right at the lakeshore, a celebration in one of the lakeside hotels, or a cable car ride up the Zwoelferkopf with panoramic views across the entire Achensee: I accompany your day from start to finish. With professional equipment, a drone for aerial perspectives, and the instinct for when the camera needs to roll and when it does not.

My approach is both documentary and cinematic. I do not stage anything and I do not ask you to repeat scenes. What happens, happens. And that is exactly what makes the film so valuable in the end. Natural colours, steady camera work, and an edit that tells your story without rushing it.

Many couples who marry at the Achensee come from elsewhere, from Germany, Switzerland, or further afield. For destination weddings at the lake, I serve not only as a videographer but also as a local contact. I know the venues personally, can recommend photographers and planners, and am happy to help with the day-of timeline so everything works beautifully on film.

Why White Peaks Weddings

01

Lake and mountains in one film

The Achensee offers turquoise water and Karwendel panorama in a compact space. I know the best angles and lighting to capture both beautifully.

02

Three packages, one promise

From a compact highlight film (Moments) to a full wedding film with trailer (Story) to the complete Cinema experience. I will advise you honestly on which package suits your day.

03

Close by, not in the way

I work in a documentary style, unobtrusively. We get to know each other before the wedding so I am a familiar face on the big day, not a stranger.

Popular Wedding Venues

The most beautiful wedding venues at the Achensee

Entners am See (Pertisau)

Elegant hotel right on the Achensee with direct lake access and terrace. Ceremonies and celebrations take place with a direct view of the water.

The direct lake access allows filming at the water with a Karwendel backdrop. The warm afternoon light on the lake terrace is cinematically outstanding.

Strandbar Achensee (Maurach/Buchau)

Relaxed beach bar on the southern shore of the Achensee with a pebble beach, wooden jetty, and open views of the lake and mountains. Perfect for relaxed, modern weddings.

The combination of beach, wooden jetty, and mountain backdrop creates a unique atmosphere. At sunset, the footage here has an almost Mediterranean feel.

Atoll Achensee (Maurach)

Modern event venue right on the lake with spacious rooms and lake views. Suitable for weddings of any size, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations.

The large windows let in natural light and frame the lake as a living backdrop. The modern architecture offers a beautiful contrast to the mountain landscape.

Karwendel Cable Car / Zwoelferkopf

Mountain station at over 1,500 metres with a 360-degree panorama across the Achensee, the Karwendel, and the Rofan mountains. Accessible by gondola from Pertisau.

The panorama from up here is spectacular. Drone and wide-angle shots with the lake far below and the peaks all around deliver cinematic footage you cannot get anywhere else.

Gasthof Achenkirch

Traditional Tyrolean inn at the northern Achensee with rustic charm, a garden, and views of the surrounding mountains. Ideal for weddings with authentic Tyrolean flair.

The combination of rustic wooden architecture, garden celebration, and mountain views gives the wedding film a warm, authentically alpine character.

Frequently Asked Questions

My packages start from 1,500 euros. The Moments package (from 1,500 euros) includes a 5 to 8 minute highlight film, the Story package (from 2,200 euros) a highlight film plus trailer, and the Cinema package (from 3,000 euros) a full-length main film plus trailer. The drive from Innsbruck to the Achensee takes only about 45 minutes, so there are usually no additional travel costs. You can find all details on my packages page.

The Achensee is a popular wedding region, especially during the summer months from June to September. I recommend inquiring at least 8 to 12 months in advance. For weddings in spring or autumn, shorter notice is sometimes possible.

Absolutely. Clouds over the Karwendel and mist above the lake create an almost mystical atmosphere on film. The soft light on overcast days is often even more beautiful than direct sunshine. Many venues at the Achensee also offer covered areas or elegant indoor spaces as alternatives.

Depending on the package, I accompany you for 6 to 12 hours, from getting ready to the party. I work unobtrusively and in a documentary style. Before the wedding, we meet for a personal consultation where we also discuss the schedule at the lake so I can plan for the best light and angles.

Delivery time depends on the package: the Cinema package takes 3 to 5 weeks, the Story package 4 to 6 weeks, and the Moments package 6 to 8 weeks. If you need a social media teaser sooner, I also offer a same-day teaser as an add-on.

Of course. I regularly work throughout all of Tyrol, from Innsbruck to the Zillertal, Kitzbuehel, and the Oetztal valley. I also love covering weddings in Salzburg, Vienna, or South Tyrol. You can find more on my regional pages.
